Founded in 1987, Action Art Actuel [AAA] is an artist-run centre, located in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, in Montérégie.
AAA is an artist-run centre devoted to the promotion and development of contemporary art. For more than 20 years, AAA has been active in supporting and presenting the work of artists from here and abroad.
AAA offers a stimulating environment for research, experimentation, presentation and dialogue in which both emerging and established artists can participate through a program of exhibitions, events and residencies. The centre has two exhibition galleries, a studio with residence and a documentation centre of contemporary art publications.
AAA is a dynamic artist-run centre, sustained by a smoothly run administrative directive and a clear mandate. Several initiatives and satellite activities are carried out in parallel with the exhibition program, such as publications, workshops and public outreach programs. Numerous collaborations are also initiated through curated projects and international exchanges.
Action Art Actuel is grateful to le Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec and la CRÉ Montérégie Est via le Fonds pour les arts et les lettres de la Montérégie Est, for their funding support.
